No, you can never ever just get over a pet passing on. I still have moments where I mourn and genuinely miss the dogs we've had to put down. I'll be a wreck when my older cat goes because we got her on my 9th birthday when she was just this tiny little kitten. She was so little that they had her in a rabbit cage on the counter and they were supposed to have put her down because she wasn't old enough to be actually kept there. Sandy has a grouchy personality too and never had any desire to be an outdoor cat.

I'm really sorry about your loss. It sucks. And if you cry I'm sure she'll be there to comfort you. *hugs*

I wasn't sure I'd be able to get through those post all in one piece and well... I didn't. It sounds like she and Tashy went in much the same way - not in pain, but just kind of fading for the last little while. Not eating or drinking a lot, which is not good in this heat.

Miss Boots seems like one feisty lady (and so pretty with that big poofy tail!). I'd say that they would have made good cat-buds, except Tashy was pretty much the least friendly animal ever (to non-human animals anyway). But you will be in my thoughts all the same (hugs).

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard that can be, even when they've lived a long and good life. {{{huggles}}}
