I have this AU in my head where Fraser and Thatcher meet at Depot, fall pretty much instantly for each other without all the problems of rank and chain of command that plague them on the show, and then, just before graduating, wind up solving a crime in a politically inconvenient way that gets them both exiled to Chicago, there to have assorted ( Read more... )

This exists in a disturbingly large quantity. I think every reasonably large fandom (more than 500 fanfics) has at least one, and some have dozens. I don't understand the urge at all, but apparently it's a popular one.

Whatever it makes you, it makes me the same. Although from what I can tell, most of the HS AUs are in fact written by people in their twenties and up.

I don't care whether or not you like writing it.. I loved it.. I love AUs.. I hate those that go back to like HS, but this is training and not preteen and well.. it's done with maturity.. what I can't stand is the one's that are written like a squeeing teenager. bleck.
