Whoa, I remember reading Paula Graves's fic back in the day. She was the first fanfic author I read who wasn't completely awful; my first forays in trying to read fic were along the "Fox and Dana feed each other grapes in the park" line.

Yeah, these fics aren't the best things ever written, but for me, they're suffused with a nice nostalgic glow that makes up for any inadequacies. I think she was probably one of the first XF authors I read, which means after the various Star Treks, she was one of the first fic authors I read, period.

I know I read a lot of awful XF fic in my youth (wrote some, too), but thankfully seem to have forgotten the worst of it.

Haven't seen last night's Castle yet but it looked terrific from the trailer. Can't wait!
