Flist/circle stuff

As far as I can tell, Dreamwidth doesn't have reading filters set up yet. Since more and more of my flist is moving to posting at DW only, I think what I'm going to do is "subscribe" to just those folks, so that reading two flists/circles/other geometric shapes won't lead to a lot of repeats. (I was doing RSS feeds from DW to my LJ flist, but I ( Read more... )

Of the half-dozen people I've found at DW, none post there exclusively and only one cross-posts with any regularity. So while I'm there, everything is still here for me! :)

Yeah, the bulk of my flist is still over here. Some are crossposting. A few are exclusively at DW. I like the idea of moving over to DW on general principles--and I like the set up of having different access and subscription filters in particular--but when most of the people I read are still over here, it makes little sense to move.

Thanks for the tip! I looked through the FAQ, but only managed to find a way to separate communities and single-owner journals.

DreamWidth has reading filters. I set up a DreamWidth only one for myself over there and I remember that it was little difficult to find the right place to go to do that. Try under reading options?

Oooh, good. I'll go hunting further. The FAQ only said how to separate communities and journals.

I haven't backed anything up over there and I don't crosspost. And honestly, while I like the idea of an online backup, the troubles they've been having lately, and their rather naive view of online life in general, make me wonder just how long they'll be around, so I'm not going to toss all my eggs in that basket any time in the foreseeable future.

I can rarely be bothered to log in at DW and read my flist, let alone post. When I do it's usually either crossposted or unique to DW, but I probably have all of two or three entries over there at most.
