Woe.

Don't you hate those random, desperate desires to read new fic about a pairing that hasn't been canonically viable for more than ten years, the last fanfic about which was probably written at least a year ago? You search around the internet, LJSeek, Icerocket, fanfiction.net and Google groups, but it's all stuff you've read before, and eventually ( Read more... )

Heh, yes. Looking for fic from sci-fi genre usually helps the odds, though.

Sorry, no recs but let me know if you find any! It might helps to figure out what else Bashir/Jadzia Dax folks might have been into at the same time. Sometimes you can find hidden gems that way -- if a good writer has done a lot of other works (maybe Janeway/Chakotay?) and has a few fics listed under other.

Well, I have a ton stored away in my memory...want a list, with links if I can find them? To be honest, it's probably something I should do anyway for my own self...

That's a possibility. (Can I rant about the fact that the ASC archive doesn't have an an index by author? You have to find a story by the person you want and then go to their profile from that. Drives me crazy!) Although I've given half-hearted attempts at that kind of thing before, only to find that if anyone liked a DS9 relationship, it was inevitably either Kira/Odo or Bashir/Garak. *sigh*

Alas, I have every episode that would in any way satisfy my yen on tape already. And I watched them enough in high school to still have pieces of dialog memorized, so, uh, yeah. I don't really need to actually watch the tapes at this point...

(I obviously had a lot more time on my hands when I was a teenager than I thought at the time...)
