Yes, that headstone got me a little also. I thought it interesting they lingered the scene around it. Those odes are usually done rapidly then moved on.
Like you, I was feeling some of the old X-Files mojo. My one change would have been a bit less of the horned fellow and more of Scully.
I did enjoy it though. It looks like next week we get the scary scenario. They are hitting their highlights.
If they could manage to fit Krycek into one I'd be a happy little thing. I know he is dead. That never stopped any of the other characters . . .

I can barely remember Krycek. The only reason I wouldn't like to see him is because it would indicate an episode focused on the conspiracy/mytharc, and the fewer of those there are, the better.
Ah, yes, that mytharc, that dreadful, totally obscure mytharc. Let me rephrase that I would like to see the actor who played Krycek. He was in the first season as another character. He was oddly beautiful.
