It hurts just as much this time...beautiful, sad, and graceful. The little touches of stories that we didn't see, Ellen and how she processes this from her ageless POV, Cottle's compassion...and the gentle ushering into the dark, accompanied by exactly the right story. Perfect.

You aren't missing much, IMHO. As much as I love Hemingway's ability to craft a sentence, I nearly die of boredom every time I read one of his novels.

Still, that passage was a brilliant choice for the ending.

Seriously, you two! I really loved how this all came together in the end, the events, their relationship, friendships, it all came full circle so beautifully. I also so loved how you explored the whole "all of this has happened before" motif in such a unique way.

This was.... very fitting actually - and The Old Man and the Sea in particular. Also, the image of Laura's many breakings and her particular character in facing them. So very, intrinsically Laura.

And the Cylons in each iteration.
