I've heard bits of this Hindi song here and there but never really gave it much thought. I just caught Inside Man (Clive Owen = sex) on HBO and this song was the opening song. It's the first time I've really listened to it closely. I don't understand a single word, but damn, it's such a GREAT song! (Apparently Spike Lee thought so too ( Read more... )

Manisha Koirala. :) She's from Nepal, I think. When he was around five, my youngest brother absolutely loved that song and would not stop singing it. Was intensely irritating. :| But yes, it isn't a bad song, *grins*. I think it's is about shading yourself in the shelter of love or something along those lines. The film's not bad either, for a ShahRukh Khan film. Haha. I always find it strange when Hindi film songs are played in English films, coz those two are always so completely separate in my mind, being Indian but brought up with English as my first language and all. Sorry, doubt you wanted to know all of that. ;))

Hee, I was expecting to hear from you. :)

Are Shah Rukh Khan films supposed to be bad? You know, being in Singapore, we're exposed to the popular Bollywood actors but I have no idea if their movies are actually any good.

Also, your icon? I think Jens Lehmann needs a hug or two.

Dear icecreamfilling,

Thanks very much for your interesting blog. It's always nice to see how people on the other side of the globe live, how they share the same joys and sorrows, what they do in their free time, etc.

I actually have a question about your blog. Would you mind helping us with a linguistic research project? We're compiling data from various Singaporean weblogs. All it requires is checking a few boxes. If you want to take part and/or have more questions, drop me a note ( hack2301@uni-trier.de RE: Question ) so that I can then send you the 'official' project eMail. We'd really appreciate your help.

Thanks very much in advance!
Best regards,
- Fran
