Sup LJ. Less than two weeks to D-day.

Apparently, one percent of pregnant women suffer from this rash known as Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy, better known by its handier acronym, PUPPP. I think I'd probably be giggling over the actual name IF I wasn't actually suffering from it. It's benign but intensely itchy, erupts all ( Read more... )

Ooh, that sounds awful. You poor thing. Don't know if this would help, but when I had chicken pox a few years ago, my naturopath made me a cream that was the only thing that helped with the itching. It didn't dry my skin out like the ones from the chemist. If you know a good naturopath, it might be worth checking out. I think it used calendula as a base.

Being pregnant is like wearing a sign that says, "I'm public property". lolz What's even weirder is some people think it's okay to touch your belly, strangers in the supermarket etc. I never minded people commenting, except when they said things like, 'My god look at your belly. It's huge!' and then proceeded to tell me how big my baby must be. Not what you want to hear as the birth draws near : )

I don't know any naturopaths, but I found this body wash at the pharmacy called DermaVeen, which is from Australia. It contains oatmeal which soothes the itching somewhat and is pH neutral so it's non-drying.

Oh yes, the "wow, your belly is huge!" comments are the worst! Thanks for easing my anxieties about childbirth. One of those random strangers asked if I'm having twins. I remember you said you were huge during your pregnancy. Now I know how it feels.

Think of it this way - the great thing about having a big baby is they look so adorable when they're born, all chubby and grown, not like shrivelled tiny old people like some of the little scrawny ones LOLZ

Oh gosh, sorry to hear of all the itchiness. :( I never even considered the aspect of strangers initiating conversation with you while you're pregnant. How odd. I suppose it's a human experience that everyone can relate to, so people feel comfortable striking up conversations.

Best wishes to you and your family during the next few weeks! :D

Oh btw, if I can help you with any music requests, let me know!

Thanks Siri! I don't even know what's "on the radar" on the music scene these days. Anything spectacular I should be listening to? You don't happen to have anything by The Spinto Band, do you? I've read about them but have no idea how they sound.

Thank you! I think I will miss being pregnant, not the current stage but my second trimester, which was quite wonderful really.
