I know I've been neglecting my Con mod/organizer duties to a shameful degree (9 months since the last update! I'm so sorry) and I'm guessing some of you think the whole plan for icecon_2008 has been abandoned. It hasn't been, I promise. I've just been very busy with stuff and allowed this to slide. The plan was to really engage in this right after new year's and... well, that didn't happen. I'm really sorry about that.
What I'm wondering, at this point with only 5 months to go, is how many of you actually think you WILL be coming? There are 16 people signed up, besides me and mr_felis, but I always knew only a few of those would actually make it because lets face it, it's fucking expensive coming here, even just for a few days. Why do you think I never go anywhere?
But that's why we had 18 months to prepare, right? So if you have been saving up and think you're gonna make it, this would be the time and place to say "Count me in!" 16 people or even if it's just one or two, I promise we will make it a trip to remember.
I'm going to post about icecon_2008 in my journal as well in case someone who might be interested somehow managed to miss out on the initial introduction last year. Like, f.ex. not having been on my flist at the time. lol Since I'm pretty sure the number of attendees is going to be very low (I'm being realistic here, not pessimistic) and more is almost always merrier, I just want to see if there's a chance of adding to the party.
Practical things, such as prices, accommodations, places to visit etc will be posted about soon. I've recruited hubby since I'm the most unorganized person in the world, and hopefully together we'll have something for you soon.
