Additionally, it's just occurred to me to wonder how many people celebrate their Easter with Rolling Rock Beer.

I celebrated Easter with Halloween H20, the Tekken movie and Demon City Shinjuku. I spent last Easter watching Hellboy. I think a pattern is starting to develop.

We realized belatedly this year that a zombie movie marathon would be *perfect*... next year, definitely.

Ginkgo made meringue cookies with mini chocolate chips for family brunch today. Her drink-the-holy-water-Catholic sister said "Oh! You made Resurrection Cookies!" We were both like "Whaaaaa?" "Yeah! You bite into them, and they're all just air inside and empty, like Jesus' tomb!"

We pointed out to her that these were actually filled with chocolate chips. "Chips... oh! Chips of rock, like the rock that was rolled away!"

We just made scared noises and moved away slowly.

When we got back, Ginkgo found a recipe on the web for honest to fucking god Resurrection Cookies, complete with scripture passages to read while making them, and all sorts of parable bits to tell kids while making them. My favorite part was placing pecans in a bag and having the kids crush them, to demonstrate how Jesus was beaten by the bad bad men after being arrested.

"We're smashing Jesus' nuts!"

The truth behind Easter... rev_blacky March 28 2005, 10:22:50 UTC
A male rabbit lays an egg on the first full moon succeeding the vernal equinox, the egg is then hidden in a fresh grande steaming beef and bean burrito, the ugliest male chihuahua alive then sits on the egg until it either hatches or melts, and when it hatches, we have the CHUPACABRA!!! which then proceeds to eat the chihuahua and the burrito and terrorizes South American wrestlers!
