1.
“You're drunk, Jared.”

“I know. Still want.. to.. you know… ‘Cause I still will when I'm not drunk.”

“I am not so sure about that.”

“I am. Have been.. a long… long time.”

“I'm not going to take advantage of you.”

“What… what if I want you to?”

“Still not gonna happen.”

“Damnit, Jen. Why do you have to be so… so nice?”

“Because you are you and I don’t want to destroy what we have. Not for a drunken mistake or one night because you think you're sure. And right now I think you might not be.”

“But you want to? Right?”

“Yes.”

Jared nods, leans in as if he's about to kiss Jensen and then just drags him into one of those bear hugs Jensen has gotten used to over the years. When Jared pulls back, he's smiling. A smile that Jensen rarely gets to see and he's about to regret his decision to be all gentlemanly and let Jared get sober first before he mauls him, when Jared says something that makes Jensen’s eyes go wide.

“I.. have never been denied a kiss before. All I asked was for a kiss and you know what? I love you for being you and not doing it. I am sure I’ll still want it when I'm sober, but then I'll know you’ll want it, too." He pauses, then. "Good night, Jensen.”

Jensen just blinks at the closed door in front of him and can’t help the giddy feeling that spreads inside of him. He smiles softly and knows he made the right decision.

But then, he thinks it'd never before been so hard to say no to Jared. It'd never been so hard to deny him what he clearly wanted. Jensen is kind of proud of himself, though. His grin breaks out full force when he's back in the car and on his way home.

2.
It’s one of the few times Jensen doesn’t feel bad about denying Jared anything, because even if he really wanted to, the dead cow half hanging between Jared’s hands and his mouth really put Jensen off of doing anything. So he shakes his head and moves back in his seat, just a little, putting some distance between Jared, who is hovering half over the table, and himself.

He doesn’t even want Jared to talk right now, much less kiss him. So Jensen just looks down at his own dinner, mentally preparing himself for the whine to follow and waits for Jared to sink back into his chair. Because, right now, they both look kind of ridiculous.

Jensen almost regrets telling Jared how awesome he was during the shoot today, because Jared had gotten those shiny eyes Jensen can never resist. Which meant that Jared was about to pounce, no matter where they were or what they were doing.

Most of the time Jensen didn’t mind, but he did have something against sharing food this way. And really, they were lucky their booth was so secluded and that the staff were already used to Jared’s antics.

When Jared flops down into his seat and grumbles, Jensen knows without looking that he's pouting. He knows Jared can’t help it, just like Jensen can’t help doing it, too when he wants to reach a goal with Jared.

So, Jensen does what he always does. He lets his foot slide up Jared’s leg, smiles at him and mouths 'later.' The dimples he gets are awesome; the grin accompanying them could be a little less underlined with food, though.

Jensen can’t help but laugh.

3.
Jared pouts and Jensen is tempted to just give in, but that would defeat the purpose and make him look like he doesn’t stand a chance against Jared, which is so not true.

But no one can be mad at Jensen for refusing to kiss Jared right after the dogs did. When the dogs come first, Jensen isn’t willing to come second. As much as he loves them, dog slobber isn’t one of his favourite fluids and he tries to stay away from it as much as he can.

Jared, on the other hand, calls him prissy and says he shouldn’t be so touchy, because they are just dogs. Jensen can only smile and pat Jared on the back, sending him into the bathroom with a promise to make it up to him when he is back and squeaky clean.

It might be one of the few times that Jared's fast and graceful without stumbling over his own feet, the furniture or the stairs.

4.
Jensen is splattered with gore, feeling sticky, dirty and generally not attractive at all. He hates feeling like this and just wants to be done with the scene and hide in his trailer. He wants to clean up and be warm again. He hates lightening breaks, they mess up the schedule and leave him struggling to stay inside Dean’s head when they take too long.

Not even Jared being considerate and quieter than usual is enough. Even so, Jensen is grateful for Jared holding back and helping him set the mood for the scene. He really is grateful.

Until the moment Jared pulls him close and into one of the famous bear hugs. Jensen is not adverse to squeaking and does so. He struggles a little, but knows it's fruitless because Jared is fierce and determined, and sure as hell won’t let go soon.

“Jared? Let go. Please. I feel icky.”

“Icky? That a new word you learned today?”

“Oh shut up, as if you never say that.”

Jared just laughs, and Jensen feels it through his whole body and it warms him. Warms him from the inside because he loves to hear Jared laugh, it makes his day a little better, a little brighter. Of course, he’d never tell Jared, or at least not too often.

They are kind of hidden from view, but it’s still public enough for people to walk in on them and get them found out. Not that it would be that much of a scandal on set, but Jensen doesn’t really want to think about the consequences. Not right now, anyway.

Jared holding him feels good, way too good. Jensen doesn’t want to move, doesn’t want to struggle with getting back into Dean’s headspace, even though he knows he’ll have to do that soon. But when Jared leans in for a kiss, he still turns his head away, so that Jared’s lips just slightly touch his clean cheekbone.

Jensen kind of expects Jared to be hurt or sad because of his obvious rejection, instead Jared surprises him. Fingers lift his chin up so that Jensen is looking directly at Jared. Jared is smiling slightly, eyes gentle and without a trace of anything besides love and understanding.

“Not feeling like it?”

“I am sorry.”

“It’s okay, Jen. Later, huh?”

Jensen nods, hugs Jared close again and wonders for a second how long it will take Jared to realise that Jensen’s insecurities might be a little to much for him.

“Never. It will never happen, Jen.”

Jensen knows Jared can read his mind, or at least his moods. Right now he is grateful for that. So Jensen nods again and prepares himself for another two hours of shooting and hopefully, without any more lightening breaks.

5.
It’s Mike’s fault. Jensen just knows it is, because it’s his party, his alcohol and his guests. Okay, it might have been his own fault for keeping the beer and shots coming, and it might have been his fault for not keeping track of Jared. But it definitely is Mike’s fault for providing easy access to the stuff.

Putting blame on someone else isn’t helping much right now, mostly because Jared is still trying to dry hump Jensen in front of everyone one and Jensen is kind of powerless to stop it. He isn’t sure if it’s due to the alcohol in his system or the fact that Jared is mumbling sweet nothings into his ear.

Jensen doesn’t even know if he wants to stop it or not anymore. Jared is good at distracting him.

“You know that Mike switched the vodka with water after the first three shots right?”

“Uhm.” Well, now he does.

Jared is snickering, puffing air against Jen’s neck making him shiver.

“Huh? Okay.”

They still don’t move away from each other, still keep pressing closer, still stand propped up against the wall in Mike’s living room with the party crowd around them. Jensen doesn’t really mind anymore, not when he knows that neither he nor Jared are really that drunk and can actually control what they are doing. Not that they are really trying to control anything at the moment.

Jared lets his hands roam up and down Jensen’s back.

“So I guess we aren’t as drunk as we both thought we were, which makes this situation awkward and might actually mean that we are kind of outing us right now. At least a little, since no one is looking right now, but who knows. Stop me from rambling any time you want, Jen. It doesn’t really help with making this less awkward.”

So, Jensen does what he's wanted to do since they arrived and Jared had pulled his lower lip between his teeth when he tried to decide what to drink first. He kisses Jared. Kisses him with all he has and still tries to keep it gentle, loving.

Jensen doesn’t even care who sees anymore, the people around here are friends anyway. Friends in the business who know how hard it is and what it means to both find love and then to try to keep it.

Jensen just keeps on kissing Jared; and Jared kisses right back.
