[It was cold outside, but Sasuke was too pissed to care. He sat out on the roof, arms and legs pulled close to keep from losing too much warmth. He couldn't see why Hitsugaya was so fucking uptight over something "bad" happening to him.

Yeah, Sasuke had a bad track record, but dammit he could take care of himself too. And he had been looking forward to something good happening as well. So much for that, too. Now he didn't have a damn thing to look forward to anymore.

[Paranoia had always been and always would be something Hitsugaya had trouble with. He had valid reasons, of course, but in Adstringendum, most everyone did. Now that he had Sasuke, however, he wasn't going to let anything take him away. Not even himself. He'd done it before, found some way to make it up to the shinobi, and he could do it again. The problem was still there, the question of what would happen left open and unanswered. But Hitsugaya had no way of solving the problem if Sasuke wouldn't listen to him. Just this once, Sasuke's feelings would have to come before his safety ( ... )

[Sasuke didn't run; that wasn't his style. But the argument that he had - like all others he had with the shinigami - just flat out pissed him off, and found their way to exhaust him in the process. He didn't run when his boyfriend came up onto the roof. Instead, he just sat there and watched silently. That is, until Hitsugaya sat down the box.]

[That's his only answer as out of the box comes a candle, a matchbox, forks, plates, and a covered bowl with a conspicuous layer of frost lining the outside. Once the box is emptied, he turns it over and places the bowl on top of it, along with the rest of the silverware, setting it like a table.

There are two places set, Sasuke. Not one.]
