Meredith Gentry... Speculation [not a review... I have mixed feelings]

I read Laurell K. Hamilton initially, because as my multiple papers on fairy tales attest to, I love following everything on fae. So I picked up A Kiss of Shadows (the first book in Merry Gentry) because it promised to bring me back to the time when instead of Sleeping Beauty being woken up by a kiss, she was raped (ok Anne Rice did that AGAIN, but ( Read more... )

I'm going under the assumption that you haven't read the most recent book, Swallowing Darkness. That answers some though not all of the points you raised here.

I just finished Swallowing Darkness and to be honest, I'm desperately searching for frost/doyle/merry fic, i love threesomes where everyone cares about one another and in their case it's so clear Hamilton even alluded to it!

If you see any please pass them on. (Doyle/Frost is great too)

Thanks!

It's so very difficult to get the fic, because the authors are actively saying that they're putting their foot down and not having anything to do with fanfiction.

I am assuming you want the pRon fics and not another storyline so...

The only Frost/Doyle NC-17 fics that I've ever found is Light in Shadow, Shadow in Light

I have some unfinished work here somewhere between Merry/Frost/Doyle that frequently features in my wildest fantasies but heh... I'll try and upload it sometime.

If you find good ones give me a holler, and I'll read them. Tell me what you think. :)

oh and seriously though, when I read that fic, I thought the only flaw in it was that though Frost and Doyle are comfortable in bed NOW, I always thought it was because of Merry not because they loved each other BEFORE. Because honestly Doyle's said that other guards gave themselves to male lovers in court, but he never found the allure in it.

Laurell K. Hamilton's anger at fanficcers is so ridiculous, it doesn't take any money out of her pocket and it's just a sign of how much people enjoy her work. It's also ironic since Anita Blake is the biggest Mary Sue in literature, and Merry is a close second. I have gotten to the point where I can't read Anita Blake novels anymore, and I've only just come back to Merry Gentry and re-read mistral's kiss and then the rest. I actually think her writing has improved when it comes to Merry. But I stopped reading Anita way back in Narcissus in Chains-ville.

How about you?
