Eighteen "Please tell me you have something," Sylar rushes as he rematerializes in the lab.
Mohinder growls, turning away from him, "It's nice to see you too."
"Oh, come on Mohinder." He sighs as he crosses over to him, resisting the urge to touch him. "Do you have anything or not?"
"That would be a no," Mohinder clips as he briefly glances at him. "I need more samples."
Sylar nods.
"I need a sample of your blood as well as Peter's," he continues and Sylar nods once more.
"There might be a slight hitch getting a sample from Peter," Sylar murmurs more to himself as he rubs his chin. "The CDC has quarantined him off- I can take you there, but I'm not sure they'll let you go after you're exposed to him."
"Understandable," Mohinder huffs. "Not that I want to be stuck in another lab, but I'll live. The samples are crucial for my research."
Sylar frowns as he glances toward the door, "What about Molly?"
"I'm sure she'll understand," he replies as he follows his gaze. "And I have no doubt that Claire will offer to stay."
"Claire?" Sylar repeats, raising a brow in question.
"She came back to check up on us," Mohinder smiles as he nods to the door. "And I couldn't be more grateful, her presence has helped Molly immensely."
Sylar quirks a smile, "She's good at that."
"Oh?" He muses as he trails his fingers over Sylar's chest.
"Yeah," he chuckles, placing his hand over Mohinder's. "She has a way of making your grief not quite so bad."
"When we were parted?" Mohinder questions softly and Sylar nods in reply. "I'm glad you had her-" he whispers as he leans up and kisses him.
Sylar moans into his mouth, deepening the kiss as he wraps his arms around him. For a moment everything blurs and time stops, it's only them.
"My god," Molly cries out and they jump apart. "My eyes! My eyes!"
"Molly," Mohinder begins as she groans, rubbing her eyes.
"Don't you know how to lock the door?" She drawls in an overly dramatic voice. "I think I'm going to go blind."
"Molly," Mohinder exhales. "Aren't you being a bit-"
"Like a typical teenager," Sylar chuckles and Mohinder rolls his eyes in annoyance. "Is there something you needed?"
Molly pauses, pursing her lips together. "Oh, yeah." She smiles, shrugging her shoulders. "Dinner's ready."
Sylar nods. "After dinner, I think we need to have a little conversation about inappropriate language."
"Inappropriate language?" Claire questions as she joins them. "Hey, Gabriel." She smiles, offering him a small wave. "I knew you'd make time to get away," she winks.
"Claire," Sylar acknowledges with a small smile. "And you, Molly, shouldn't cuss, no matter the circumstances."
Molly's mouth drops open and she crosses her arms. "I can't believe the boogieman is trying to give me a lecture about my language-"
"Molly." Mohinder stresses and she huffs, rolling her eyes.
"Okay," she sighs. "I'll never ever insinuate that you two should have sex," she smirks as Mohinder and Sylar flush at her comment. "Is that better?"
Sylar coughs. "Why don't we go eat?"
"Last night?" Claire clarifies and Molly nods. "Well, I dunno about that." She grins. "I think they should have sex all the time," she teases and Mohinder groans in response.
"Ewww," Molly gasps, scrunching up her nose in disgust. "That's my dad!"
Claire giggles, wrapping her arm around the smaller girl. "Dinner time," she hums as she pulls her out of the lab.
Mohinder sighs, shaking his head. "I changed my mind," he drawls. "Claire is a very bad influence."
"Oh, they're just having a little fun." Sylar chuckles as he leans in and kisses him.
"And you're no help," he huffs against his lips, wrapping his arms around the taller man. "We'll be good, right?"
"Yes," Sylar vows, trying not to think of the chaos unfolding around them. It's a promise made knowing he'd do anything to protect his family. Anything.

Mohinder picks at his meal, unable to eat much of the dinner that they had prepared. He takes a sip of water, his stomach in knots at the thought of the upcoming trip and the trials ahead of him.
"When do you have to go?" Molly questions softly, putting up a brave front.
"Soon," Sylar replies as he glances at his watch. "We've lingered too long as it is."
"It'll be okay, Molly." Mohinder attempts to reassure her and she shakes her head no.
"You'll come back, right?" She squeaks, tears pooling in her eyes. She swallows hard at the slight delay in response and she stands up quickly, glaring at Sylar. "If you don't make sure Mohinder comes back, I'll- I'll kill you!"
"Molly," Mohinder begins and she shakes her head once more, running down the hall, slamming the door behind her.
Mohinder gets up to check on her, but Claire intervenes. "Go ahead and go," she smiles. "Don't make her say goodbye-" she adds, worrying her lower lip. "Just do what has to be done- I'll watch over her."
He exhales sharply, nodding his head. "Thank you."
"No need," Claire smiles. "I'll see you both soon."
"Of course," Sylar replies quickly. "Call me if you need anything-"
"Will do," she nods as she slowly backs away and hurries down the hall into Molly's room.
Mohinder watches her departure and sighs heavily, turning to Sylar. "We should go."
Sylar barely acknowledges his comment, his gaze still focused down the hall. "They'll be fine."
"That's reassuring," He whispers as Sylar turns to him and kisses him. "Let's go."
Sylar wraps his arms around him and teleports them to the hub of the CDC laboratories. Mohinder falters, clinging onto Sylar for support as he adjusts to the jump. He blinks, the bright lights of the lab blinding him for a moment.
He glances around the fully stocked lab and his fingers itch to get to work, to end this once and for all. "Everything you'd ever need is as your disposal," Sylar breathes into his ear and he nods. "Peter is just down the hall."
"Peter," he repeats as he takes a step forward and tries to get his bearings. "To start with, I'll need a blood sample from you and from Peter."
Sylar nods as he takes off his jacket and begins to roll up his sleeve. "Anything else you need before I go?"
Mohinder worries his lip, shaking his head after a moment of consideration. "Not at the moment."
"Oh, you must be Doctor Suresh." A voice rings out and they turn to see a young man, walking briskly toward them. "I'm Michael," he grins. "I'm a big fan of your work," he gushes. "I've read your father's book and yours religiously."
"Thank you," Mohinder smiles as he glances at Sylar. "If you'll excuse me, I'd like to get started."
"Excellent," he nods as he reaches into his pocket and hands him a key card. "This will let you into all the restricted areas."
Mohinder takes the card. "Have there been any developments I should know of?"
"Afraid not," Michael sighs, shaking his head as he glances around the empty lab. "The others are taking a dinner break- they'll trickle in later."
"That's fine," Mohinder nods as he places the card in his pocket. "I've always worked better on my own."
"If there's anything you need," he smiles. "Don't hesitate to ask." He offers as he turns to leave.
"I don't like him," Sylar grunts and Mohinder chuckles lightly, shaking his head. "He was all but undressing you in his mind."
Mohinder sighs, "You shouldn't have been looking."
"Whatever," he huffs as Mohinder wanders to the lab table and gathers the supplies needed to draw his blood.
"You know the routine," Mohinder smirks as he snaps the tourniquet in his hands. "You'll be free to go in a moment."
"Anything you say, doctor," Sylar grins as he holds out his arm to him, more than happy to provide a sample of blood.
