WIPs and OMGs

So over the last couple of days I have downloaded a ton of 3to2 conversions. I'd been avoiding them because I was playing on a netbook which was very underpowered for the game, so I didn't want to use a megaton of CC on top of that and hasten the machine's death any more than I was already hastening it. But now I've got this zippy "new" computer ( Read more... )

Yay! I love it! I'm so glad somebody is going to make some quality recolors for the cars! And that desk IS beautiful. I can't wait to have all of your recolors in my game. :)

Good luck with your vegan thanksgiving! Any thanksgiving, vegan or not is pretty daunting already. :S But I'm sure whatever you pull together will be just fine. :)

Well, I'm not sure that they'll be "quality" recolors. Honestly, I don't know how much more I can do with the minivan other than try to make the taillight look better and add some more realistic texture to the turn signal/parking light. But hey, at least it will be better than Maxis's textures! :) And I haven't really looked at the pickup yet to see how terrible it is.

Thanksgiving IS daunting. Thankfully, it'll just be the two of us, so I don't have to make a "feast" or anything, but I do want to (try to) make something kind of nice. So we'll see how I do...

(your link that says "tyhis is what we're having for dinner yonight" leads to Amovitam's post with the furniture in it)

If IK were a vegan, I wouldn't do a roast, even if I loved seitan (I can take it or leave it). I'd do a mushroom gravy and piles and piles of fantastic vegetable dishes. The centerpiece of the meal would be a beautiful pumpkin, either filled with squash soup or filled with a giant pilaf of wild rice or mixed grains. That's what I'd do.

Anyway, I can't say the cars concern me but the ungrained desk is already beautiful.

Derp. I failed Copypasta 101. :) Is fixed. And the recipe is pretty yummy, although I made a few modifications. (MOAR NOOCH! *laugh* ) As for the seitan, I can actually take or leave eating it, but it's fun to make. Like bread only...not. And Ethan will eat the stuff until it comes out of his ears. So, I'm going to make a "roast" and stuff it with...something. And make a gravy, yes. And have veggies and mashed potatoes, of course. And, for dessert, a pumpkin "cheese"cake, mmmmmmmm..... I like your idea of stuffing a pumpkin with something, though. Wonder if I can rustle one up around here at this time of year...

And yeah, it is a pretty desk even as a WIP, which gives me hope that it'll be even prettier when it's done. :) The whole set is very pretty. I made the hardware brass instead of the original more oil-rubbed bronze look before I stopped working on it to make and eat dinner, and that looks really nice. So...yeah. :)

WooHoo!!!! Hey you asked me what it was I was disappointed in ;) I never make requests, but you offered, lol. The classic simpicity is what I love about that furniture too. -Jones

Hey, I'm actually glad that you "requested!" I downloaded so many conversions in a huge batch and so many of them were calling to me for new textures, but it was kind of overload; I really didn't know where to start. You made the decision for me, so it's all good. :)

Of course, it's going to take me a while to do the whole set, much less all of the stuff that I downloaded that I want to mutilate. I'm thinking I'll post this set, at least, piece-by-piece over here on the LJ and then maybe upload the set as a whole at MTS when all of the individual pieces are done.

It is a big set, but I'll be thrilled to have it however and whenever I get it :) Piece by piece, or as a whole, doesn't matter too me. Though piece by piece is going to be like waiting for the next book in a series, lol. -Jones

Oh wow! You put the biggest grin on my face. Ada County, I see. (That's where the capital, Boise is, while Boise County does not have the capital but does have Idaho City, for those of you amused easily by geography.)
Let me know if you could use some recipes--I have several vegan or close to it meals I make all the time because legumes are cheap and we are nine. If my five-year-old and my dad both eat things without whining I figure I've got a winner!

Yay, the "particular person" did see it. :) But...how do you know that's an Ada County plate? Are there different designs for different counties up there? Is your state government THAT bored??! ;)

Recipes would be awesome, if you've got the time to share. I love beans and lentils because they're tasty, super nutritious, and, yes, super cheap. (God bless you and your large family! :) ) Ethan loves them, too. He does most of the cooking because it's his hobby and he's WAY better at it than I am. (I landed a Cuisine Sim; how awesome is that? :) ) But sometimes I cook, when he's busy, as he will be until school's done...later this month. (Wow, can't believe it's December already!) So, it'd be nice to make him something that isn't his own recipe or something that came out of one of his massive collection of cookbooks. :) So, if you feel like sharing, bring it on.

Oh! And there will be a green van. I'm coloring these in the current Ford F-150, and there's a lovely dark green in there. And a dark teal, which is my favorite color. :)

The first number and/or letter indicates the county. 1A is Ada. I don't know what 2A is, but there has to be one, or Ada'd just be A. I assume someone who likes filing invented the system, as the counties are numbered alphabetically. http://itd.idaho.gov/dmv/vehicleservices/documents/county_designators.pdf There's the list. One tends to learn the designators most often seen/annoyed by, so 1A becomes "Stupid city drivers getting lost by GPS." I know all my neighboring counties off the top of my head.
I'll measure and divide for you, then--I have a tendency to eyeball some things, most often spices, which can be catastrophic if overdone. Living with a cook is fun--my husband and I both can cook (as can my folks) but I do 80% and Mom does 20% as a general rule. I'd take a dishwasher over a cook, though. Doing split pea soup tonight.

Ahhhhh, so there's a secret code! *laugh* That's pretty cool, actually. I know some states print the county name on the plate, but this just seems far more....geeky. ;) And secret. I'm going to petition to do this in California. No wait, they all don't know how to drive here, so it wouldn't be helpful. I curse at them all equally. It would be awesome in Colorado, though, where there's a huuuuuuuge gap in driving competency between us sane people on the western slope and the Flatlanders on the eastern side, especially the Denver/Colorado Springs dwellers, as if the mountains are the Berlin Wall of driving ability. *laugh ( ... )
