As far as I'm concerned, the negotiations are going nowhere. I refuse to deal with these people, especially given that what they want in return is for us to break the back of the rebels protesting these sorts of actions.

There is more to learn here, though.

They did.

And we are. As far as they knew, we were aware of this and agreed to do so before landing on the planet.

You should probably blame the GIA for not telling us about this, or Stacy for sending clones to begin with.

We are apparently really, really far from them. It's entirely possible we're one of their only ships in this region of interdimensional space so they're using us however they see fit.

Hey, I never said it wasn't using, I just said that it's even more likely they are using us for their dirty work because of the position we're in.

It's also possible that the Galilee government doesn't really want to negotiate with the GIA, and want the negotiations to fail; and deliberately treated our people rough in hopes of having us stomp off in a huff.

Not that that excuses anything.

Stripping people of their personhood just seems to be par for the course for 'superior', advanced cliques like the Galileeans or the GIA. After all, how could they use us if we got the silly notion that we matter?

I'm fine with them being branded. It's about time someone reminded those things of their proper place. They were all grown in a vat with a purpose in mind, they should never be allowed to forget that, and now they want to blow up the mission because someone pointed out that simple truth.

We've all been too nice, indulging them in their fantasy that they're people. Even I do that, but only because its the easiest way to get their cooperation, for now. But now we know that there's at least one world out there that won't humor them.

Strictly speaking, you're all biological machines with your genes and biochemistry dedicated to several specific purposes, such as survival and reproduction. How that biological matter originated matters very little.

It's only delusion that allows you to think you're somehow more sentient or more of a person than anyone else. This is why I kill other sentients indiscriminately--the only things that add any uniqueness to each experience are emotional attachments and the resulting betrayal because of them. Certain actions can illicit stronger emotional responses in some sentients.

I am sad to hear that you were an unwanted, unplanned-for child, the product of random fornication between organics.
