R-really? Ayyyye, things were so much simpler back home! There weren't any coups! The oligos stayed in their seats of power and that was it!

I don't think it's a guarantee. It's just a reminder to be vigilant and wary of those we meet there.

As long as you're not caught by surprised, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I think by "old crew members" they mean "people who've been on the station for a long time". Like Sheeana and Horo, people like that.
