This was something that I wrote in response to someone talking about how liberals were hypocrites for not being tolerant toward Rick Warren in particular and evangelicals in general. As many of you feel similarly to me, I thought I'd share it with everyone. :)

I am sorely disappointed in the choice of Rick Warren, and I'm trying to find a way to come to terms with it. On the whole, Obama has been doing wonderfully well in his cabinet choices, etc., and then this? I get his point about reaching out to the "other side," but there are people on that side who are not fucktastic hatemongers. Maybe he should have picked one of them? I did read something about a possible protest of Warren's speech, which I hope takes off. Talk of everyone in attendance at the inauguration (and those of us watching from elsewhere), to just silently get up and turn our backs on him when he takes the podium. I should do some investigating on this, and post to my journal if it really is going to happen. I like the statement it makes, and it does it in a way that NO ONE can fault for being aggressive or whatever the hell else people might say
