Another option, but a little more costly, is professional reballing - somewhere, I came across a thread where someone sent his board to them, and they'd remove the GPU, apply new solder balls, and resolder it properly, verified by multiple X-rays. Wasn't too expensive, either - somewhere around $60 plus postage.
Oooh, that sounds nicer, safer, and saner, although unless it came with at least a 180 day guarantee, I'd probably opt to go with DIY...
Nope, still not. ^^;;; downloaded the client, made an account, and quite promptly forgot about it (and haven't really had the time or desire to try to get on~)
