"Real nerds": am I sure it matters? Also, tolerance.

Gail Simone has touched my life.  She's written stories that have moved me, reached out to fans graciously, and even emailed me kindly after I messaged her saying I disagreed with her political reactions and positions but loved her work.

Heck, I even spent over three hours researching and writing the Helena Bertinelli page on tvtropes (http://Read more... )

And people who are in any group need to remember that loving your neighbor as yourself means more than just loving the people who agree with you, who have made the same sacrifices you do. It means loving the person who calls you a dweeb. Loving the person who says you're not a real nerd. Loving the person who calls you a f---head because of your political or religious beliefs. Loving the person who hates you for reasons you cannot control.

It means more sacrifice. And I pray that I am capable of making it.

Indeed, so do I; practically everyday, it seems like. So here's good luck to the both of us.

It seems whatever group you're in, you look at those outside it as not of your 'kind'. And even within a group, there are those who stick together and criticize the others who are not like them or whom they have problems with or whatever. People are just weird like that.

I never seem to fit (completely) in with any group for a long amount of time. And that's fine with me. It allows me to get along with all sorts of people.

These days I'm pretty much to myself. That's fine too.
