Quick update

I browsed the new Prisoner of Azkaban chapters on Pottermore (Book 3 is now complete) and there's a lot of interesting new info on Remus Lupin, the Fidelius Charm, Patronuses and time-travel. There's some really beautiful new artwork. The Lupin backstory is so emotional omg. The bit that did me in was reading about Lupin's transformations when he ( Read more... )

Ooh, I hope I'm not spoiling anything for you with this entry.
I have no idea if I'll have the opportunity to watch the show live either, but I'm looking forward to finding out who at last!

You're not spoiling anything HP for me, lol, I'm not into that fandom yet :D But generally I don't really mind spoilers- except MAJOR ones, obviously.

I just got home to find you were spot on, Peter Capaldi IS the new Doctor! I am going into this new era without prejudice, I knew nothing of the other contenders either, I can't wait to see the next season!!!
Doctor Who, why so magnificent?? (hhhaha, I KNOW WHY, it reaches beyond adventure, it reaches to the best parts of us - as well as the worst. it's just... complete. yeah!)
Can you tell how excited I am ahahahahah, I was bouncy and agitated the whole day!!

I was out today, but I managed to sneak a look on someone's smartphone at 7:30 and was so pleased it was Capaldi indeed! I had last minute doubts because I found out that he was credited as "W.H.O. Doctor" in the recent movie World War Z, (W.H.O. as in World Health Organisation!), so maybe confusion had arisen from that (I still remember how sure the bookies were that Patterson Joseph was Eleven), but it turns out that's just a hilarious coincidence!

I surprised myself too at how emotional I got. I'd been looking forward to the Lupin backstory ever since Pottermore was announced, but I never imagined it would make me cry. I've pretty much embraced that I'll always have feelings about Harry Potter. After all, the next generation needs to be indoctrinated >:) Last night I went out clubbing wearing my Deathly Hallows ring, no shame.

Also, I think it's amazing that Peter Capaldi, who is a massive Doctor Who fan since childhood, will have played 3 different roles in New Who: The Doctor, Caecilius in The Fires of Pompeii, and John Frobisher in Torchwood: Children of Earth (it's an absolutely stunning performance, I highly recommend that miniseries, although I warn you that the last episode is very upsetting).

Your ring is awesome lol. I sorta want one!

And I am totally 'aww'ing over how much he's got to be involved in his favourite show. It's great. I still need to watch CoE lol... I just don't like my TV too dark.
