"Mr Wu, next time please try to be clearer about these things. Otherwise it's very confusing and makes a lot of trouble for everyone, you know."
I could sort of see the whole thing happening like a quiet local drama xD; probably I'm too familiar with the bureaucracy woes and office politics and waiting for government services and conspiratorial theories with colleagues over lunch. BUT THE TAOISM OFFICE AND THE CHRISTIAN OFFICE ;____;
I'm glad you liked Mr Wu! I had no idea how this was really going to end until he finally showed up, true fact, ahaha.
I also had no idea if I could actually write the dialogue right, so really really glad you think this reminds you of actual experience/a wacky local drama XD;;;
This is hilarious--especially as the further I got into the story, the more certain I became that the whole thing was going turn out to be some sort of mix-up.
And this: One week later, Li Dong suddenly asked, "Hey, how come he didn't just let his side file the request through the transfer department? Isn't that how they usually do it?"
"What?"
He added more vinegar to his noodles, and said, "The Transfer department handles external transfers too, not just internal. The red tape probably takes forever, but he didn't have to come and do it himself."

It needs to become its own mini-series / TV show or something.

Perfect ending. Absolutely perfect.
