I am entirely awed here. This is a beautiful, tragic story, written like a true dark fairy tale; and the illustration is gorgeous. Reminds me instantly of Aubrey Beardsley, though your own style and vision shines through wonderfully.

Um. Wow. ♥

Thank you very much! I had been reading a lot of Hans Christian Anderson & Oscar Wilde which put me in a darker mood. I have been told my line art is a bit Beardsley-esque so I purposefully adopted more of his techniques for this fairy tale; it felt appropriate for the story.

Thank you again!!

"This wealth," the wife thought to herself, "we needs must have a piece of!"
needs must?

Hm, perhaps I didn't use it correctly in this instance?

Oh, I like this story a lot. It really does feel like a fairy tale. I also love the ending, because it surprised me very much. I totally was expecting it to be the devil, after all. I love how you didn't go there, though. Awesome story.

The art is also gorgeous. I adore it's feeling of old-fashioned-ness. Really great job!

Thank you very much!
I felt it was a risk not to meet the expectations of the reader but at the same time I wanted to show that sometimes people are mistaken, even in fairy tales, and sometimes the moral of the story isn't what you expect it to be.

Thank you again for your kind words!
