I like this picture a lot; I think it made a great cover for this issue. I'm assuming it's real media-- gouache and watercolor, with pen?-- but even if it's not, I really like the texture and the painted quality to it. ♥
The borders work really well for the picture, somehow. It gives it a triptych or graphic novel feel, and that's always neat. The way one of the people is split right along the gap between the left-hand and center panels is a nicely creepy touch. In general, though, I just like the monochrome feel to everything.
This is a really beautifully done time piece. :O *envies* I especially like the sort of messy white paint on top of the watercolors/inks. It ads a lot of lovely texture to the piece and makes their disintigration a bit more painful/messy.
