I love the conclusion, where the fox grudginingly accepts that he was happy. This is a really well done spin on the fairy tale.

Thank you! I read many, many fairy tales in the process of writing this, trying to get the feel of it right. Good to know I was successful. :D

I love this!

You have an excellent handle on the 'fairy tale' style, writing very matter-of-factly of fantastical things so that they are eminently believable. And I love the storyline, the princess is such a worthy protagonist.

Are you on AO3? If you post all the parts there I would love to download it to keep as a favorite!

Glad you enjoyed it! I am on AO3, but I mostly avoid posting my original fiction over there. I'll have to think about it.
