Kagome stared at the man she loved. So different from the hanyou and yet the same man.One immortal. One mortal for only six hours every month. White to Black. Gold to violet Puppy ears to round ears. All Inuyasha
They had made it a celebration. Joking that it was his time of the month.At first it had been to take his mind off his condition. Now it was a time of experimentation. For xix hours they reveled in the newness.
Gone were the old fears that had built up over the past two years. When they were together on that night it seemed that nothing could hurt him. He would always be safe in the shelter of her arms.
In fact she had to remind him of his limitations. He was not super hanyou in this form. His body was only human. It could not take the punishment that he could in his hanyou form.
He had taken so many chances on the quest simply to prove that he did not want to hide or hold back when he was in this form. She had to hold on to him to remind what he had to lose if he died while human.
She was selfish that way. His human night belonged to her. No Miroku, Sango, Shippou, or Kaede. It reminded her that she was human too. Someday she would die. Until then she would hang onto him for all she was worth.
