Three Sentence Fic-athon

Nov 24, 2017 16:35

So it looks like, sadly, CaramelSilver will not be doing the three-sentence ficathon this year. I've watched her journal almost daily this month and she appears to not be coming back. Sadness. After rereading the fics I've contributed over the past few years to each ficathon, I was really hoping to see one for this year ( Read more... )

Jonathan is helping his mom tend to Will, and he doesn't want to leave his brother, so Steve offers to give everyone else a ride home. They ride in silence, and Nancy and Mike are the last to be dropped off; she stays after her brother leaves the car, but the tension rises quickly and she almost loses her nerve. She finally makes herself look at him, but he is staring at the steering wheel, waiting; waiting for her to leave or to speak she doesn't know, but she takes a deep breath and tells him what she needs to say: "Steve, you weren't a bad boyfriend; I was the one who was the bad girlfriend, and I'm sorry."

The Defenders, Foggy, his real reaction to Matt's death

It's two in the morning when he stumbles in to his dark apartment, and despite the many drinks at Josie's (and the long walk home which did nothing to sober him up), there is not enough alcohol in his system to dull the pain. He sent Karen on her way, for once glad for her absence because he doesn't have the energy left to be strong for her anymore. He stands in the foyer of his apartment, his eyes red (it's the alcohol doing that, he tells himself), his hands trembling, and his heart filled with grief and guilt; he puts his palms against the wall in a vain attempt to steady himself, but soon the wall has a new hole in it and Foggy barely feels the fresh blood pouring from his fist.

The Defenders, Matt +/ Claire, moving on

Claire watches on as the building before her implodes; at first she is too horrified for tears. Soon reality sets in; Matt's gone -- even he couldn't have survived that. She swallows thickly, grabbing Luke's hand; Luke squeezes back, so tightly it almost hurts, and she cries quietly for her lost friend.

The summer evening is hot, and Lucy tosses and turns in her bed; eventually she gives up on sleeping and wanders through the castle until she reaches her favorite balcony, overseeing the ocean where she'd once watched Aslan leave Cair Paravel. The boys are away fighting, as they always seem to be anymore; in the light of the half-moon, she watches the waves crash against the sand, wondering if her brothers are safe and well. A soft sound startles her, but it is only Susan, joining her; Susan smiles and pats her shoulder, but says nothing, and a bit of peace returns to Lucy's anxious heart.

Stranger Things, Will + Eleven, friends

It's a Saturday, and one of the rare days when Hopper will let Eleven leave the house; Will offers to show her some of his favorite places around the woods, and despite the strict instructions from their parents not to wonder too far nor be gone too long, they lose themselves willingly in the wildness of the land. Will is quiet, but Eleven realizes after awhile that she's been quiet too, and that maybe this is ok; Will doesn't expect anything from her, which is a nice change, and maybe it's a nice change for him, too, not having to constantly reassure people he's ok. Will points at a rock formation, an excited smile on his face, and she runs after her friend.
