1. A number of new polls are causing Fivethirtyeight to put the senate election in the Democratic column, showing Franken just barely ahead. What's the feeling on the ground there? Can Franken really win ( Read more... )

Franken could win. Norm has cuddled up to Bush too much, but he's not actually incompetent, so Franken isn't guaranteed to win, but he could.

I voted for Jesse Ventura, and still think he did just fine, so I'm the wrong person to ask that question that way :-)

I think you're talking about Michelle Bachman, and no, her district is north of me. My district is the one represented by Congress' first and only Muslim member, Keith Ellison.

so i went and looked up Jesse Ventura's political record after reading that, and I would have to agree with you. Guess that shows you shouldn't always listen to Garrison Keillor when it comes to local politics. . .

So that said, what about the 2nd aprt of the question, without the fisrt part? "wondering what your feelings on Franken are after seeing him as a candidate instead of a comedian and author"

After that Michelle Bachman video went viral, Al Tinklenberg's campaign raised half a million dollars on the web over 2 days. Yay for the Interwebs!

Honestly, I've never been all that familiar with Franken's work as a comedian -- I don't watch SNL and I haven't read his books ( ... )
