A/N This AU is a subject close to my heart. Having researched the history of it for English lessons at school, I decided to give it the Jack and Ianto treatment. I hope I do it justice and that you all enjoy it.

A/N2 Apologies for any of you who are getting this multiple times, it's cross posted

They arrived at work together, Ianto worried that people would wonder why, but he needn’t have been concerned.

“Morning Captain.”

“Morning Doc, what are you so cheerful about?”

“Oh, got myself a new girl last night, she’s cute but she doesn’t know how long she’s going to be here.”

“Oh and why’s that?”

“She’s over from Cardiff.  Hey Ianto isn’t that your part of the world?”

“Yeah, so?”

“No, just saying.  I’ll warn you though, if you meet her don’t even try thinking of taking her from me.  I know how you Welsh stick together.”

Ianto smiled, looked quickly at Jack who raised an eyebrow and grinned.  “I’m sure Ianto wouldn’t do anything like that.  He’s just ended one relationship, I don’t think he’ll jump into another so quickly.”

“Oh Captain!”

“Yeah Owen?”

“You can keep your hands off her too if you don’t mind.”

“Owen, I wouldn’t dream of taking her from you.  I’m too busy with work.”  They both laughed.

Ianto looked again at Jack who winked at him.  Ianto had to take a deep breath, he realised that if he wasn’t careful his reaction would give him away.  He had to do something, so he said, “Mr Harkness could I have a word with you?”

“Sure Ianto, but what have I said, it’s either Jack or Captain.”

“Ok, yeah, sorry.”

They moved away from the rest of the men before Ianto spoke.  Jack noticed a worried look on his face.

“Yan, what’s wrong?”

“I….I nearly reacted to you when you winked, I’m scared I’m going to give us away.”

“Hey calm down, you’ll be alright.  You’re still feeling emotions from last night aren’t you?”  Ianto nodded, “stop panicking, we’ll be ok.  Look if it’s going to help, why don’t you have your lunch outside today.  That way it’ll give you time to decide what you definitely want.”

“I know….I….”

“What?”  Jack ghosted a hand over Ianto’s whilst they were away from the others.

“I….oh God, this is hard.”

“Just say it, don’t think too much.”

“Ok here goes.  I know I want you.  There I’ve said it.”

Jack smiled, “good, I’m pleased about that because I want you more than I’ve wanted anyone for a long time.”  Jack looked around, saw the men had left the building, took one of Ianto’s hands in his brought it to his lips and kissed it.

“Jack!  What if someone sees?”

“They’ve all gone, and besides I wouldn’t have done it if they’d been here.  Now come on let’s go do some work.  And tonight we’ll get you moved.”

“Jack?”

“Yeah?”

“Did you mean what you said last night about….about me coming with you on the Titanic?”

“I don’t ever say anything I don’t mean, why?”

“Because I’d love to go to New York with you.”

“Great, oh I so wish I could kiss you properly.  Look I’ll go see Mr Ismay and ask him, I’ll tell him you’ve got family over there and you’d like to go visit.”

“Thank you Jack, now it’s my turn to say I want to kiss you.”  He blushed.

“Yan, I wish you wouldn’t do that, you don’t realise what it does to me, look.”  Jack’s eyes went to the front of his trousers.  Ianto’s followed and when he realised Jack was hard he reacted too.

Jack smiled when he saw what was happening, quickly looked around him then brushed his hand over the front of Ianto’s trousers.  “We’ll have to sort these out later my Ianto.”  And as quickly as his hand had brushed the young man he was gone.

Ianto took several deep breaths trying to calm himself down.  He was concentrating on what had just happened he hadn’t heard Owen come up behind him.

“Hey Ianto!”

“Shit Owen you gave me a heart attack there.”

“Sorry, but we could do with your help, we’ve got some light fittings to position in the main ballroom and we need an extra pair of hands.”

“Sure, I’m on my way.”

“Ianto….are you ok?”

“Mmm, yeah Owen I’m fine, thanks.  Why?”

“Oh just that you looked a little flushed when I came in.  Has Jack been having a go at you or something?”

“No nothing like that, I’m moving to Martha’s tonight.  Do you know her?”

“Yeah, Mickey her husband used to work with us.  Hey that’s great, so what’s it got to do with our esteemed Captain?”

“Well he’s offered to help me.  I said it wasn’t necessary but he’s insisting.  And well…I feel embarrassed.”  He hoped that was convincing.

“Hey Ianto, don’t be, I’ll tell you something now.  Our Captain is the nicest guy you could ever work for.  He really looks after his men, and Martha is a really good friend of his.  He was devastated when Mickey was killed.  He actually blamed himself.  It had nothing to do with Jack, but he wouldn’t let anyone else tell Martha what had happened.  He kinda looks out for her.  So if he’s helping you then he’s also making sure she’s alright.  I often wish the two of them would get together, they’d make a perfect couple.  But….hey who am I to play cupid.  Perhaps you could give them a shove in the right direction.”  Owen nudged Ianto, smiled and winked.

Ianto smiled Oh Owen if only you knew.  “Come on then Owen, let’s go do some work.”

The rest of the day was spent putting the fixtures into the main ballroom.  Ianto did what Jack had suggested that morning, he had his lunch with some of the others outside.  To show he was willing to muck in with the rest of them he offered to make the tea for everyone, which led to Owen ribbing him that if he did that often enough, he’d get the reputation of tea boy.  They all laughed at that.

Jack had left Ianto and gone to see Bruce Ismay.  He had made up his mind that if Ianto wasn’t allowed to go then he wouldn’t go either.  He’d knocked on Ismay’s door, the questions running through his mind as to what he’d say, but when the door opened he just blurted it out.

“Morning Sir, I was wondering if you could see it in your generosity to allow Ianto Jones passage on the Titanic too.  You see he has relatives over in New York and hasn’t seen them for a number of years.”  He took a deep breath realised how it must have sounded and stopped.  “I’m sorry Sir I didn’t mean for that to come out that way.  I….well I was….”

“Mr Harkness, you don’t have to explain.  Yes he can have passage as long as you don’t mind sharing a tiny cabin with him.  It’ll be good to have both of you on board.  That way if something needs repairing I’ll know I can trust you.”

“Oh, erm….yeah….wow, thank you.  I really thought that I’d blown any chance then.  And erm….no I don’t see any problems sharing with him.”

“Good….good….Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got an important meeting with Edward Harland and Gustav Wolff.  They want to know how far away we are from completing.  Now go tell Mr Jones the good news.”

Jack smiled, held out his hand which Ismay shook.  “Thank you Sir, I’ll tell him straight away.”  Jack left the office grinning from ear to ear.

He couldn’t find Ianto when he went searching, none of the guys he spoke to had seen him since that morning.  He was beginning to get worried, maybe Ianto had had a change of heart.  Maybe he didn’t want to carry on a relationship with Jack.  All kinds of things were going through Jack’s mind, he hoped Ianto hadn’t left site without saying goodbye.  Then he saw Tommy.

“Tommy….hey Tommy!”

“Captain, hi what’s wrong, you look like you’ve lost a fiver and found a penny.”

“Oh, erm, no nothing like that.”  He laughed hoping he didn’t look too worried.  “I’m just looking for Ianto.  Haven’t seen him have you?”

“Oh yeah, he went with the Doc this morning.  He’s been in the main ballroom working with the guys who are fitting the lighting.  Saw him briefly at lunchtime but he went away before I had a chance to chat to him.  Is there a problem with him, because I can tell you he’s a good worker, picks things up quickly and will always be the first to help anyone out.”

“Tommy, stop!  I know he’s a good worker, I’ve seen what he can do.  No, he’s not in trouble, I just have a message for him, but I’ll catch up with him later.”  Jack didn’t realise but he’d been holding his breath.  He let it out slowly and went to check on the rest of his crew.  The end of the day couldn’t come quickly enough.

By the time the claxon went for the end of the day Ianto had worried so much about not seeing Jack, not knowing if what had been said was true, that he didn’t hear Owen ask if he wanted to go for a drink with them.

“Hey Ianto, you ok?”

“What?  Oh sorry Owen, yeah I’m good, it’s just I’ve got a lot on my mind at present.”

“Ok, anything I can help you with?”

“No, thanks anyway.  I’m moving house tonight and need to get home and pack.  Jack has offered to help.”

“Ok, well if you need an extra set of hands you know where I am.  And Ianto….”

“Yeah?”

“Martha’s a great woman, she will look after you.”

“Yeah, I’ve seen how she is with Jack.”

“Like I said earlier it’s a pity those two can’t get together they would make a great couple.”

“Yeah I bet they would.”  Ianto smiled if only you knew Owen.

As he was making his way back to the workshop he felt someone appear at the side of him.  Turning around he saw Jack grinning from ear to ear.

“Hey Captain, what’s made you so happy.”

“Two things.”

“Oh and are you going to let me in on them?”

“One of them I will, but the other I want to keep for later when we’re on our own.”

“Be careful Jack someone might hear.”

“Stop worrying we’ll be fine.”

“So come on then tell me why you’re happy.”

“Well….you’re moving into Martha’s which means you’ll be closer to me.”

“Yes, but what is Martha going to think if I’m not there all the time?”  Ianto stopped, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to say that, it’s where I’m….”

“Stop Ianto.  If you want to stay there all the time, that’s fine, likewise if you want to stay with me then that’s fine too.  I’m sure we can think of something to tell Martha.  Will you please stop worrying.”

“I’m sorry Jack, it’s just I’m scared of people finding out, hating us for what we’re doing, reporting us.”  He looked and sounded scared and Jack just wanted to fold him into his arms and hug him, but he daren’t as he didn’t know who was still in the yard.  Instead he said “come on Yan, let’s go and get you moved.  The sooner you’re near me the better.”  He brushed his hand lightly over the back of Ianto’s fingers and felt the young man shudder at his touch.  They left the yard not long after, heading for Ianto’s soon to be ex boarding house.

They were busy packing when there was a knock at the door.  “Come in.” yelled Ianto.

“Ah Mr Jones, what do you think you’re doing?”

“I’m erm….”

“He’s moving out.  Have you got a problem with that?”

“Well he’s paid up until the end of the month, don’t think I’m going to refund him, I’ve got bills to pay.”

“Yes I know I’m paid up until then, and really I don’t care.  I’ve had enough of being ignored and told that I should be on time for my evening meals.  I’m not a child and I can come and go as I please.  I thought this was a decent place to stay but after talking to several people I’m finding just the opposite.  Now you can keep your rent, I’m leaving and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Jack was proud of Ianto standing up to this woman.  He’d heard various rumours about her reputation and was now beginning to believe them.  “Mrs…..”

“Miss Sanders”

“Miss Sanders, if Ianto here says you can keep the money then I don’t think you’ve got anything to complain about.”

Both men were surprised at the next comment that Miss Sanders uttered.

“Well I hope Mr Jones knows what he’s getting himself into being friends with someone like you Mr Harkness.”

Jack didn’t realise she knew who he was and wondered what she meant.  “What do you mean by that?”

“Oh, just that I’ve heard rumours about your lifestyle.”

“And what’s that supposed to mean?”  He looked across at Ianto who was like a rabbit caught in the headlights of a vehicle.

“Oh, just that you’re out every weekend drinking with men.”

“Miss Sanders, firstly I don’t drink, secondly those men as you call them are my crew from the shipyard and finally, what the Hell has it got to do with you?  Come on Ianto, the sooner you’re away from here the better.”  He picked up Ianto’s bag, indicated for his young man to grab the box and headed for the door leaving Miss Sanders standing watching them open mouthed.

When they got outside Ianto leant against the door.

“Yan, what’s wrong?”

“I thought she knew, you know, about….about us.”

“No one knows about us and no one is going to know.”

“We have to be careful Jack.”

“And we will be.  Now let’s get you settled at Martha’s.”

Martha had seen them walking up the road and was waiting for them at the door.  “Boys, welcome.  Your room is waiting for you Ianto, I can call you that can’t I?”

“Of course you can.”

“Good then don’t forget it’s Martha.”

“I’ll try, thank you.”

“Right, I have a meal just about ready, so would you like to have that first then get settled in or would you like to go up to your room first?”

“Erm, I’ve only got this box and the bag that Jack has, so if I could put them in the room first that would be great.”

“Not a problem.  Oh and Jack?....”

“Yeah?”

“Are you staying for dinner too, or do you have to rush off?”

“Martha Jones, I don’t need asking twice where food is concerned and you are the best cook around.”  He put the bag down and hugged her.  Ianto remembered what Owen had said and if he hadn’t just spent the night with Jack, he’d have felt a pang of jealousy, because he had to admit they did make a striking couple.

“You are such a sweet talker Captain Harkness.  Ianto I hope you know what you’re letting yourself in for being associated with this man here!”

“Oh I do Martha, I certainly do.  He’s been a good friend to me since I arrived and I couldn’t ask for more.”

Martha smiled, “right boys, you take your things up, it’s the room at the end of the landing.”

“Thanks Martha, I think….no I know I’m going to enjoy living here.”

She watched as the two handsome men went up the stairs laughing.  Oh Jack, Ianto, I hope you both know what you’re doing.  Martha hadn’t said anything to Jack, but she suspected that the reason he wasn’t married was because he just couldn’t love a woman.  She saw how relaxed he’d been around her friends when she’d tried to set him up, but then she’d also noticed how he’d looked when they’d been with some of Mickey’s single friends.  He’d gone quiet if a good looking man had entered the room and she wasn’t sure but she thought she’d seen him blush when some had spoken to him.  Now he’d brought this good looking young man to her home and the sparks that were coming from both of them again made her question Jack’s and now Ianto’s sexuality.  She didn’t care, why shouldn’t two people love one another regardless of their gender.  She knew it was against the law, but she wasn’t going to say anything.  If she was truthful she was pleased for Jack.  He deserved someone good in his life.

Secretly she wished them all the luck in the world.  She smiled as she went through to the kitchen to check on their dinner.  If and when the time was right she’d tell the boys what she suspected, but she would let them know too that she was behind them every step of the way.

Ianto opened the door to his room.  It had a large window opposite the door and was decorated very plainly in pale blues and creams.  He wondered who’s room this could, would have been if Mickey had still been alive.

Jack noticed the look on Ianto’s face, “hey Yan you ok?”

“Yeah Jack, I was just thinking.”

“Steady, you might hurt yourself then what would I do?”

Ianto laughed, “thanks Jack, I would have expected something like that from Owen, but….”

Before he could say anymore Jack had locked his lips to the young man’s, winding his arms around his waist.  Ianto instinctively put his arms around Jack and held on tightly.  Jack was surprised when he felt Ianto’s tongue skimming over his lips asking for entry.  He smiled into the kiss and parted his lips so Ianto could explore again.  What began as a tender kiss soon became hotter, wetter.  Jack trying to find the bottom of Ianto’s shirt to pull it up to reveal bare skin, something he realised he would never tire of feeling, seeing, kissing.  He wanted this man so much he would do anything to keep him, both of them, safe.

Ianto felt Jack pull on his shirt and just the thought of Jack’s hands on his body caused him to react.  He blushed, pleased that Jack couldn’t actually see him.  Jack didn’t need to see, he felt Ianto’s erection press against him causing his own reaction to happen.  Ianto felt it and pulled away.

“I’m sorry Jack.”

“What for?”

“This.”  He ghosted a hand over the front of his trousers.  “I didn’t….what I’m trying to say is….”

“I like that I can do that to you just from kissing you and touching you.  I won’t lie Yan, I want you so much it hurts and I want so much to make love to you.  And I will, but only when you’re ready.  If you hadn’t noticed, which I suspect you have because you pulled away, you have the same effect on me, look.”  Jack took Ianto’s hand a placed it on the now prominent bulge at the front of his trousers.  As Ianto’s fingers touched him Jack gave a moan.

They were just about to kiss when they heard Martha shout “Hey boys I know you’ve had a hard day at work, but I hope you haven’t fallen asleep up there, your dinner is ready.  If you don’t want it to go cold then you’d better get yourselves down here, sharpish.”

Ianto looked at Jack “she’s going to know Jack.  Look at me, us.  We can’t go down not with….”

“Hey, calm down, Martha is not going to say anything because she’s not to know what we’ve just done.  And besides would it be all that bad if she did know?”

“But it’s illegal Jack, she could go to the authorities.  If that happens we could be sent to prison for just kissing and if they find out we’ve done….well you know, we could be in prison for many years.  I don’t want that to happen to either of us.”

“Yan, I’ve known Martha a very long time and I haven’t said anything to her but I suspect she knows about me.”

“She’s tried to introduce me to some of her friends but I’ve never taken any of them out.  When Mickey was alive we used to go out with his friends too and well, you know….  I suppose I kinda gave myself away.  I’m sure if she does suspect she wouldn’t say anything.”

“Oh, well if you’re sure.”

“Look, why don’t we talk to her about it, have us in the open.  That way we wouldn’t have to sneak around when we’re here.”

“Well…..erm….if….”

“But only if you’re comfortable with it.”  He looked at the beautiful man in front of him.

Ianto took a deep breath.  “Ok, but it has to be just us and Martha, no one else.”

“There will be no one else, I promise.  Let’s just see how the evening pans out, ok?”

Ianto nodded and Jack kissed him lightly.  Seeing that both their reactions had calmed down Jack took Ianto’s hand and led him down to dinner.

Martha was just finishing dishing the dinner up when Jack and Ianto entered her kitchen.  Jack still had hold of Ianto’s hand behind his back and squeezed it just before he let go.

“Right boys, I hope you don’t mind chicken, I managed to get it cheap at the market today.”  She spotted a tender look on Ianto’s face as Jack moved away from him what are you hiding boys?

“That’s great, thanks Martha.  I can see I’m going to have to watch Ianto here.  If he eats too many of your delicious meals he’s going to have to do lots of exercise.”  Jack laughed.

“I….I do like to go for long walks so that would….”

“Yan, I was only joking you’re fine as you are.”  Jack saw the look on Ianto’s face then realised what he’d said.  He looked from Ianto to Martha then back to Ianto, trying to apologise with his eyes.

Something which Martha had noticed.  Oh Jack what is happening here?  She was about to say something when Jack interrupted.

“Martha this looks great, thank you.”

“Yes Martha, thank you.”

“It’s my pleasure.  I’m sure we’re all going to be seeing a lot more of each other aren’t we Jack?”

Jack smiled and nodded.  As they sat down to eat, Jack was pulling his chair underneath the table and briefly, before he began eating, he touched Ianto’s leg, looked at him as if to apologise.  Ianto smiled and nodded.  He knew Jack wouldn’t say it at work.  In way he was relieved that it had happened here at Martha’s.  If her reaction or lack of was any indication, then they should say something.  He’d tell Jack after they’d eaten what he thought.

During dinner the talk turned to the Titanic and how they all thought it was a piece of engineering genius.  Martha mentioned Mickey and Ianto could see the love in her eyes and the concern that Jack had for her.

“You ok Martha?”

“Yeah Jack, it still hurts.  I still miss him like crazy.  I don’t think I’ll ever love anyone again as much as I loved Mickey.  He was my life.  I think that’s why I take in lodgers.  It feels as though I’m close to him, his work.  The guys tell me all about the shipyard and I feel a part of it.  I know I should move on, but I’m happy Jack.  Who knows one day maybe I’ll find someone.  But I’m not in a hurry.”  She wiped a tear from her face, as Jack went to hug her.

“He’d be so proud of you.  He never stopped talking about his darling Martha.  I’m sorry if we’ve upset you.  I know what you mean about finding that special person.”  He stopped and looked at Ianto.  He didn’t think Martha had seen as it was just a brief glance.  Ianto smiled and blushed.

“You haven’t upset me Jack, it’s good to talk to you about Mickey you were his best friend.”  She pulled away looking from Jack to Ianto.  She surprised herself then with the next question.  “Have you found that special someone Jack?”

Jack sat back down, not really knowing what to say next.

“I’m sorry Jack, that was too personal, please forgive me.”

Jack took a deep breath, looked at Ianto who gave the smallest nod.

“As a matter of face, yeah I have found someone special.  It’s early days yet and we’re….well we’re not rushing things, we have all the time in the world.

“I’m so pleased for you Jack, it’s about time.  I’ve known you what….nearly five years”  Jack nodded “and you’ve never met anyone, well not that I know of.  Are you going to tell me who it is or is it a secret?”  Martha smiled, she’d deliberately not mentioned he or she, she wanted Jack to tell her when he was ready.

Jack looked at Ianto again who nervously smiled.  Jack mouthed “you sure” and the young man nodded.

Both men took a deep breath, Jack held his hand out to Ianto which nervously the young man took.  They looked at Martha who was grinning.

“What?” asked Jack, “why the silly grin Miss Jones?”

“I was wondering how long it was going to be before you finally trusted me.”  Jack went to speak, “No Jack, hear me out, please - both of you”  She looked from one to the other and saw them both nod.

“I’ve suspected for a while now Jack that you were….oh boy this is harder than I thought.  Right, yes I had my suspicions that you weren’t attracted to women.  I’ve tried to set you up so many times I’ve lost count.  I also noticed how you looked at some of Mickey’s friends and other men when we were out.”  Jack was about to say something but Martha shot him a look that said don’t you dare!

“Before you say anything, yes I know it’s illegal and no I’m not going to say anything to the authorities.  But please….be careful….both of you.  There are people out there who won’t be as supportive as I am.”

Both Jack and Ianto breathed a sigh of relief.  Jack squeezed Ianto’s hand and noticed that Martha had tears in her eyes again.

“Hey Martha, what’s with the waterworks?”

“Oh boys, I’m so happy for you.  Everyone deserves that special someone in their lives no matter what gender.  Jack you look after Ianto here.  And Ianto….”  She looked at him and smiled, “if you want to stay at Jack’s then don’t worry, I’m not going to say anything.  Just both of you be careful.  I was wondering how long it was going to take you Captain Harkness before you told me about your feelings for this gorgeous man here.”

“How….how did you know?”

“Oh the look in both your eyes when you looked at one another, that discreet display of hand holding when you came down to dinner and of course that rather flushed look you both had when you came downstairs.  That didn’t just come from carrying one bag and one box up a single flight of stairs.”  She smiled and went to hug them both.

They stood for several minutes in a hug until Ianto broke away.  “Thank you Martha, I’m not as confident as Jack, I’ve just split with my girlfriend so all this….” He looked at Jack, “all these feelings are new to me.”

“And if I know Jack Harkness he’s going to take care of you.  Oh and if he doesn’t, then he’ll have me to answer to!”  She smiled at Ianto then tried to glare at Jack but failed miserably when they all ended up in fits of giggles.

“Right boys, I need to clear up these pots.”

“Oh no you don’t, Jack and I will do that, won’t we Jack?”  Ianto looked at him and smiled.  Jack was speechless.

“Wow Ianto, that’s the first time I’ve ever seen Jack lost for words.”  She laughed.

“Good, so, Jack you start on the washing up, I’ll make Martha a cup of tea then I’ll dry the pots.  You Miss Jones go and put your feet up.  You deserve it after that wonderful meal.”

Martha did as she was told, smiling at the looks the two men were giving each other.  She was pleased they trusted her and she was never going to betray that trust.

They all sat talking after everything had been cleared up.  Ianto about why he’d left Cardiff, Jack about why he’d left America and Martha about how she’d met and fallen in love with Mickey.

Jack looked at the clock, they’d been talking for well over an hour and as he and Ianto had work the following day he decided he should go home.

“Thank you Martha.”

“For what Jack?”

“For that lovely meal and for not judging us.”  He pulled Ianto into his side, wound an arm around his waist and kissed his neck, at with point Ianto blushed again.

“Like I said Jack, it was my pleasure to cook for you both and why should I judge you?  You are two people who care a great deal for each other and I think that’s fantastic.  Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go to bed, I’ve got this new lodger who’ll want breakfast before he goes to work in the morning.  So I’ll bid you both a goodnight.”  She laughed, touched Ianto’s arm and smiled, then disappeared up the stairs.

“You don’t have to cook me breakfast, I’m sure….”

“It’ll be my pleasure so stop arguing and say goodnight properly to Jack.”  Martha shouted as she closed her bedroom door.

Jack turned Ianto to face him.  “How are you feeling now that Martha knows?”

“Good.  At least I don’t have to pretend when we’re here just as long as there’s no one else around.  What about you?”

“It feels fantastic.  I can finally be me, and do this without having to hide.”  He kissed Ianto gently.  “Now my gorgeous Yan, go get some sleep and I’ll see you in the morning.  It’s up to you whether we walk to work together or we go separately, your choice, ok?”

“I want to walk with you, it’ll give us a chance to talk before anyone else is there, and we need to talk about my passage on the Titanic with you.”  He kissed Jack, “then tomorrow night you can teach me some more.”

“Will be my….no our pleasure.  I’ll see you about 6.30 in the morning then.”

“Yeah, night Jack.  I….never mind.”

“You what?”

“I’ll see you in the morning, I miss you already.”  He kissed the older man again then watched him as he made his way to his own house.
