Awww, I love this. I want to think it's just Lucinda letting them know she's still with them and loves them--you hear about such things happening all the time! No Rift involvement necessary. <3

I'm sure that's what it is, but Torchwoods got Ianto conditioned to ask questions first. It nice to think she's still looking out for them.

I'm sure Lucinda would be very content to look down and see her babies and Ianto happy with Jack and Ava. It would be kind of strange, and a bit scary, to have your child who's never seen or met her mother tell you she knows what she smelled like and then tell you what her mother wants you to do. It's nice to now she's watching over them and approving of what she sees.

Lucinda would be happy that everyone is happy and doing well and that her babies know who she is.

Ianto was a bit freaked about the whole smell thing.
