Poor Ianto! Lisa has unintentionally done the cruellest thing she could have, burdening him not only with her death but with the death of their baby, a baby he never even knew about.

At least Lisa for the most part seems a nicer person in this chapter and I can see now what Ianto saw in her, but she's still rather pushy, lol.

Now Ianto needs to go home and put Jack's fears to rest, while letting Jack comfort him over what he had to do for the sake of the world. The two of them have both had to make so many sacrifices for the good of others, I just want them to be happy for once but now their anniversary they'd been so looking forward to has been spoiled.

At least one good thing that came out of this mess and Ianto was able to say goodbye to Lisa properly this time.

Thanks.

Yes it was very cruel and she only asked because Ianto never mentioned anything about a child. Him sending her back is more gut wrenching than you think and it's explained in the next chapter.

Home is the only place for Ianto to go.

How eerily similar to Hart's first departure when he left Jack with the knowledge he'd found Gray. And Immortal!Ianto. Interesting.

Ianto did the right thing, what had to be done, but how heartwrenching for him to have to find out about the baby that way. If she hadn't fallen through the Rift he'd never have had the pain of knowing. Thankfully for him, it was too late to stop her going back and prevented him from destroying timelines to save his child, though now he has forever to live with having lost them both.

I'm glad you were able to show Lisa's real personality, the person Ianto had fallen in love with, and it was good that he got the chance to say goodbye. It's too bad he finally got to have that closure only to have it destroyed by her parting words.

Not exactly the anniversary they were looking forward to, but now he needs to get home to Jack.

You know I didn't think of the Hart connection until you mentioned it and you are right. It is very similar in leaving that gut punched feeling.

I think if she had told Ianto about the baby sooner that he would not have sent her back and the fact that he knows now really hits him more than he expected.

Ianto has no place to go but home. He needs Jack more than ever.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Ouch! Heart-wrenching chapter! Just when I was beginning to like Lisa she delivers that parting line! I know she didn't do it to be mean, and it's a question any parent would ask, but JEEZE!

It's clear Ianto has grown very strong these past few years--he's thinking and acting like Jack does, sacrificing what's important to him for the greater good. Exactly the opposite of what he did when he "saved" Lisa the first time. I hope Jack can help him find a way to live peacefully with this decision!

Thanks.

Yup she had to ask especially since Ianto never mentioned anything about a child and she had to so it before she lost consciousness.

Working at 3 has definitely helped Ianto grow and become stronger, stuff he never got to see or do in one and then there is of course Jack's influence and how Iato saw what the hard choices did to him.

Poor Ianto, to have found out about a baby he never knew about that way.
