Wow, that's intense! I've read stories where Jack let or goaded Ianto into beating him up for this purpose, but never one where he actually let himself be shot. It makes sense though, in a weird Torchwood kind of way. Now they've both committed murder, and are equal in a way they weren't before.

Given that the first words out of Jack's mouth when he sees Gray after being buried alive all those years are the same, I can easily see him doing that here. He's got a great capacity for forgiveness, except perhaps when it comes to himself.

Torchwood perverts their agents that way. It would also explain why Ianto did not freak out in EoD when Owen shot him.

I had that scene in my mind when I wrote that line. Yeah Jack is not too forgiving pg himself.
