I know what you mean when you're talking about "pretending" to have joy but honestly feeling miserable. This week has been okay for me, but over the last few weeks/months I've been feeling so depressed and overwhelmed, and 'cause I'm on the worship team @ church I sort of feel like a hypocrite. Here I am, trying to be a good example, worshipping God, preparing to be a cell leader...and when I get home I listen to only Evanescence and get all miserable...definitely not a Godly outlook on life.
I'll be praying for you and I hope you can pray for me, too. I think we could both use it.

God doesn't want you to bring what you think God wants you to bring to Him in worship. God wants you to bring what you have. It is not......it is not......it is not trying to be a perfect example for others in worship, it is not about being perfect in worship, it is about you being honest with God and yourself to know that you aren't perfect but what you bring is you....weather that is joy, happieness, sorrow, pain, bitterness, love, anger, depression, thanksgiving, or a combination of all of them! God wants you to bring what you have......the story of the old women with the 2 pennies comes to mind....bring what you have before Him.......He will meet you where you are at, and must likely transform you.........
I am sure you both already know this....but this is something that we need to be reminded of....alot.....
