PRAY FO ME

Oct 02, 2006 06:26

i'm meeting with Arkell tonight...pray for me.  i'm afraid of forgetting what i need to say, and i am also afraid that i will speak as an accuser rather than in love, which is what i am supposed to be doing. if i don't speak in love this afternoon, i don't think God will have His say in me and i will amount to nothing more than a resounding gong or ( Read more... )

A church like that wouldn't make me feel guilty as much as it would inspire me to help them out too! It sounds like a great church to be a part of, and with people like that, it is surely a great place to serve God.

And really, is there anyone you can ask questions to that can provide you with absolute truth and not just opinion? (And nobody reply to this saying "God", because that's not what I mean) Someone's opinion can be firmly based upon the truths they do know of in the Bible, and pastors spend all sorts of time studying those truths in College, so even though they still have opinions, I think their opinions should be more justified than that of a random person, such as myself!

Holly,

The truth is in the Bible, read it for yourself, study it for yourself. Do not depend on your pastors and leaders to speak truth into you. Go directly to where God's voice is....His word, the Bible. That is truth....Paul, John, Peter, never went to school for this, all they had was Jesus's words....They had faith. Trust in the Lord always, lean on Him always, and when you think you can't trust anyone, trust in God.....is that not what we are supposed to do?

Above all this Holly remember this. God is love and really that is the bottom line.

How did the meeting go? I would like to talk with you if thats ok....

Jared

ya we can talk about my meeting...

i guess some of my issues that i sometimes have with the Bible come from when people say stuff like "ya this verse over here is applicable to us now, but for this verse we must talk into consideration the time/culture/context that it was originally intended for." it's so hard to know what to think, especially after hearing different versions and everyone always subconsiously screaming "i'm right and everything else you've ever heard is wrong."
