During the big storm two nights ago lightning struck near the house, which blew the surge protector on my laptop. Apparently when they blow, they blow once and hard, so now the laptop can only run from battery power until I get a new one ($60 ( Read more... )

I was wondering where that strike hit. I was guessing in the lake.

I don't think it was the lake, since it seemed to be between Willy and the house. But that could've been a reflection and the fact that I was in a room on that side of the house.

Around then, yeah. It depends on how fast we re-stock; unless there was a beer order today (I don't think there was) there won't be a lot to stock, since the basement's pretty empty.

Gah, I know the pain of lightning and computers. I had a faulty surge protector that when lightning struck fucked things up for my dear computer. OH well. I still am passionately in love with storms ;)
