yeeah, we are done with noise! i guess the second one has a little timer on the washer, and the cabinets make a clicking noise, but no batteries involved.

it makes me sad that so many kids toys flash, sing and so forth. like it creates imagination for kids instead of letting them imagine themselves.

we don;t have a lot of complete noise makers here. Up until now though, he's been more about learning cause and effect you know? Now he's starting to really play, so I am much more concerned with imaginative stuff.
All I can think of so far is kitchen, art stuff, and blocks! What else else does he need??

I love the classic look of the first one, but I like that the second one has more going on with it. Then again, I appreciate the fact that the first one will require more imagination which is crucial for little kids. Hm. I'd go with the second one since it has more - like the washer/iron section that the first one doesn't.

i am liking all the storage on the second. I do not want to be staring at plastic food all over the place, and certainly can't afford to outfit him in wooden food!
I also think he'd get a kick out of the washer :-p
