* Risotto could do with a bit of tweaking, but I call success! The flavour was great.

* If anyone wants to know what I've been doing the last couple of days, see HERE, HERE and HERE. I know, probably not fascinating for everybody, but I'm pleased with the progress. For those who don't know, each of those little squares contains 100 stitches, and ( Read more... )

I'm impressed by your cross stitch. I've tried it a couple of times, but I guess I don't have the patience so I just stick to knitting/crocheting. :o)

Crocheting is probably the most difficult for me out of the three, but only because I've done the least of it. If I set my mind to learning it, as I did with knitting in my teens, I'd probably get good at it quickly enough. Especially with the resources available these days online. Things like Knitting Help are just amazing.

YouTube is my savior. I would have probably picked up knitting a lot quicker had I had a video reference, but back then, there was no such thing as YouTube. Now if I don't understand a stitch, I look on there and watch it a few times.

The vids on Knitting Help are a lot clearer and a lot faster loading than those on YouTube, I've found. YouTube vids are often too blocky and jerky for me to make out the important details.

Blimey. Cross-stitch! One of those things I'd like to have in my pile of projects. I really like samplers of ... oh the name escapes me right now, the black and white samplers? Like heh shadow images?

And: OH HAI THERE BOOK! Gluten Free 4 Ingredients book!. Saw this while browsing and thought of you guys! :D

My mum's done quite a few of those.

We actually own that one. It was a gift from somebody.
