Despite real problems with the last four episodes of Doctor Who (the bit where it's just relying on one-liners and Tennant doing his Tennant things and quite possibly actually phoning it in -- though as I said several weeks ago I can't quite tell if it's the writers or Tennant bringing the emo scenery chewing) -- I loved "Midnight." Loved it! Here ( Read more... )

As opposed to you, though Lawrence "Mad Larry" Miles is impossible to take seriously these days...

ETA: specifically: any man who bashes Donna, Catherine Tate, and Neil Gaiman in his rants with the theme of "why did Rusty ask Paul, Steven and Rob BUT NOT ME" underlying may have interesting things to say otherwise, but so loses because of the former that I can't appreciate him on the later.

The white-text thing only works if someone has a white LJ-background. Mine is blue, so the white text stands out very nicely. XDXD Just an FYI.

I actually roomed with MaryAnn at a convention about twenty years ago, and always wondered what happened to her!

did I tell you they were showing a marathon of Doctor Who on UKTV one day and I was home with a sick Joss. I saw only one Rose episode (where everyone's faces are being eaten by the television in the 1950s), the first Donna episode, the first Martha episode and then a whole lot of Martha episodes like... the Family of Blood and Blink and many others. I hadn't seen any full episodes before so it was lovely and eye opening.

am so behind today but...HERE :D

The bit in white? PERFECT. Spot on. SO TRUE. And it really ads in to so many things this season - him being taught, the hard way, that maybe he ISN'T the only one who should make a decision, that others can fix things, etc etc.

Maybe he needs this reminder every so often, and gets it. In between companions. Who knows? There's time in there - hell, he could wander off for decades and flash back to the same moment. But he needed it now.

I am not one of those who thinks he devalues his companions, but he DOES take them for granted at times.
