Editing to add: There were glow sticks in the tissue paper flames on my cape and I had a whole bag of "tricks" -- cigarette bombs that I would sneak in people's cigarettes, powders that turned drinks into solid gel things, lighters that squirted water in your face (that got my BFF Helen about 12 times that night, she just couldn't remember it).
