My Palm Died!

Oct 17, 2005 14:49

Ack! I went to pull it out of the cradle to use it and it smells vaguely of burnt plastic. Dead, dead, dead.

Pardon the freak out, but my Palm is crucial to the way I organize my life. Trying to function without it, I feel like I have brain damage.

MUST be sorted out before we fly to England at the end of the month.

technology, personal

I'm right there with you. I have a Tungsten C.

When my previous PalmPilot died, I wrote a eulogy for it.

I take comfort in seeing others referring to "Palm Pilot". That's a habit I'm trying to break, because technically the "pilot" was a model. I makes me feel a little silly when I catch myself, as if I'd said something like, "Can you make some xeroxes for me?" or "And then I turned on my IBM..."

We old-timers and our out of date language make the kids laugh, if they even understand us. ;)

My hand-me-down iPaq didn't last long enough for me to grow accustomed to it. *sigh* I would've liked to, though.

My condolences on your loss, Nik. If nothing else, it's a reason to check out the new shininess.

I'm currently in serious lust (after spending the day comparing and contrasting reviews/consumer ratings of Tungsten vs. Zire vs. Treo) with the TX for its beefy 128MB of memory and consumate Vs, er, I mean WiFi capabilities. :)

I had synched pretty recently, and don't have too much in the way of third party software (I live and die by Vindigo and TravelTracker). However, tonight the machine I synched to went tits up (see most recent entry). I suspect that's going to make everything much more complicated.

Fuck me.
