What $5 Buys

Just got back from the farmer's market and here's what $5 (at a time) bought me today:

3 pounds of fava beans
2/3 of a two-pound loaf of pain de campagne (I actually bought the whole loaf)
1 pound of Rainier cherries
two large Brandywine tomatoes

Your farmer's market is better than anything we have in Austin. $5 at an Austin farmer's market gets you way less than that.

Since I managed to confuse someone who commented on my Facebook version of this post, I just want to make clear that it was $5 per line item, not for the total haul. I spent $25 at the market $5 at a time. :)

Made a delicious bread salad for dinner last night from some of it, with cherries for dessert.
