Pramas had agreed earlier in the spring to help me put in a paving stone patio in the back yard. Since we finally seem to be having actual summer weather and have had several days without rain, the time to get to work seems to be upon us. Now you know why I am making my own pavers. The form holds 1 60 pound bag of Quikcrete. That is under $3 and is 2 feet square. And you don't have to do so much ground prep, because you are pouring in place...wanna join the concrete pouring party??

I thought of you immediately. Any advice for concrete newbies? I'm definitely giving it some serious thought. I have an aversion to concrete from my years in Minnesota, where the harsh winters would cause concrete to buckle and crack and generally be a huge PITA but I'm pretty sure we don't have to worry about that kind of thing here.

First, it isn't rocket science, but it takes muscle --- which I didn't have tos start with.

I made a $15 investment to test whether I could do this. I swear the hardest part is carrying those 60 lb bags from the car to the backyard.

Shanghai Garden is my faveourite- the barleygreen handshaven chow mein is GREAT and the corn potstickers are too. YUM.

and yes, I have seen and DO see everytime I'm in there Asian people eating there.
