Title: Lighting the Way
Fandom: xxxHOLiC

A/N: Yesterday, empress_izzy posted a collection of drabbles including one titled "Light The Way". I was so inspired by said drabble that I proceeded to illustrate it, based on my particular interpretation.

Previews are overrated. XP( the taste of dried-up hopes in my mouth )

That's just beautiful. Very bittersweet.

When I was reading the drabble, I was actually thinking of "you" being Doumeki instead of Watanuki. But I went back and re-read, and it could totally be Watanuki, too.

I realised afterwards that it mentioned the temple, but I totally read it as Watanuki at first. XD Different strokes for different blokes, I guess. But I'm glad you like the picture.

I must admit when I was reading, I thought it was Doumeki. But I can see why you read it as Watanuki - extinguishing the candle didn't strike me as Doumeki-like.

That's just beautiful, though. I especially like the use of texture and shadow. What medium did you use?

Hmm - You know Watanuki might just have a candle on the other end anyway.

The whole theme of denial and losing hope didn't strike me as Doumeki at all. The only thing that made me doubt me view was the line about the temple, but Izzy explained that it could have been because Watanuki moved into the temple. Which I liked. A lot. :D

Thank you. I used a very excellent medium called Photoshop CS2. Paintbrush and smudge tools, to be exact.

And I did come to that conclusion for a while, before izzy explained the whole temple thing. :)
