I have not caught up with season five -- I've only just finally seen Changing Channels. I wrote this just after the beginning of the season, though, and I did want something quieter. Desperate-like. :D I'm so glad you liked it.

i know you haven't seen 5.16, but it really was particularly lovely to read this after an episode like that. something quiet like this, something with small hints of happy endings.

funny, because this fic in concept was gonna be about how no matter what they do the earth still gets destroyed because God's just running an entertainment thing. and then I didn't finish it, and it turned into something about getting second (and third, etc) chances. Go figure.

You're getting this comment because you posted here or here saying that you wanted to be a reader for my "work in progress" story about Reboot!Kirk's psychology (ogod), and I've finished the Prologue of it. I hate to say it, but don't expect regular updates until about May (though there might be a bit between now and then), as my soul belongs to Other Things at the moment. Also, this is the only time I will be posting a comment about a chapter update. I'm wibbling more than a little right now. I somehow missed this when you wrote it. It's the ending I'd like, though, and in some ways an ending I can see them having, not happy but at least alive.

There were a lot of lines I loved. "The sunset, when it comes, is fucking gorgeous." This is, I think, the line that I would obviously like, but I will mention my love for it regardless.
