Peter had told Neal to be at work on time, which he now realizes was a ridiculous expectation. It's 9:35, and no Neal Caffrey. He's still in his house, according to the monitor, so unless he removed the tracker or cut off his own foot, he's probably there, sleeping.
"I won't be long," Peter tells Lauren as he's heading out the door.
"Don't bust too many heads," she advises him. "He knows things we need."
Peter is expecting to have to drag Neal out of bed. He drives to June's house, contemplating what could possibly be keeping the man, and banishes that thought when he accidentally starts to think about who could be keeping him

I am on a KITTEN WRITING KICK and I have not the foggiest idea why. THERE IS DAREDEVIL KITTEN FIC IN THE WORKS. JUST TO ILLUSTRATE THE EXTENT OF MY AFFLICTION.
I'm inclined to agree with you, and I think Elizabeth is too. :D
I don't know the charaters but this was rediculiously cute anyway. KITTENS! :D
also this line: It's looking at him suspiciously. Actually, it's looking at him in much the same way Peter looks at him. Like it knows he's up to something but doesn't really care because it knows that no matter what Neal's planning, it's going to get to sit in his lap and be stroked.
Neal is an ex-con-artist (the "ex" isn't very ex, though) who assists the FBI in return for a lighter jail sentence. June is his sort-of landlady who adopted him in a used-clothing store. Peter is the FBI agent who caught Neal originally, and now works with him. They have a very... amicable and affectionate relationship. Elizabeth is Peter's wife and the awesomest awesome ever to awesome.
