There have been a few times I have felt like that. I didn't have it quite as bad as you did -- I was lucky enough that it wasn't coming out both ends at the same time -- but I know how much fun it isn't.
i've had food poising twice...and i think what you had was a MILD case...i normally was sick for 24 hrs of fun puking...you should try pedilite...grape or "orange" are best. Pink = bubble gum and clear = "flavorless" it needs to be COLD so put it on ice or get it cold first. I know its a baby drink, but it doesn't taste too bad and it really helps when you vomit as much as you do.
we are keeping the pantry stocked with it since I still puke on random occassions. My latest was sunday after almost 2 weeks of not getting sick...yeah I miss my record of MANY YEARS, but that all stoped when I got severly dehydrated my sophomore year of college. since then i've really had no problem letting go to get better!
I think I maybe had food poisoning once before, like two decades ago. It's pretty much kept me away from shellfish. My mom got food poisoning on vacation a number of years ago and it was worse than what I had--I wasn't there, but I heard stories. Still? When the last two times you've vomited have pretty much been one-shot deals, and then you go for five minutes straight, well, it seems pretty bad at the time. :)
Thanks for the idea, though. We have fruit juice and I've been sipping that since yesterday, and taking in as much water as I can handle. I know I could probably use more salt but I did have some oatmeal today and mixed in a little salt with that as per the directions, and I'm perkier than I've been.
Hey, have you had a lot of morning sickness or anything like that?
Between what you and Kris said, I am so glad I got the "mild" version. It certainly didn't seem mild at the time, though, but then again everything's relative. Like I said above, my mom got really sick a number of years ago. Worse, it was the day they were supposed to check out of their hotel but that wasn't going to happen.
I went with thinking it was food poisoning as opposed to the four-hour flu because it was just so sudden, and just as suddenly it was over. Regardless, I don't want to go through it again.
There are vending machines at school, but I didn't think to check for Gatorade there--I'm not a vending machine person, or a spender, so I pretty much just go with whatever's in the house. If I'm still having issues tomorrow I'll have to remember to check.
Wow, that was quite the unexpected science project there. ;) I would never have thought about vomit decomposing and giving off heat, honestly. Learn something new every day.
