Patience, grasshopper?

The day started off on the right foot with me waking up from a great dream. Strangely enough, it involved me being in a cheerleading competition...huh...

Then, at work (and early, like 8:30 or 9:30), somebody quoted Princess Bride. While I did say, "Stop saying that!", it made me happy. And boy, does that look awkward. ;P ( Read more... )

*sly grins* Cheerleading competition huh, musta been a sight in that dream ;)

Keep your eyes and ears open at the job cause that sort of extra stuff often becomes like a small snowball rolling down a very big mountain...every once in awhile you will need to remind them how valuable you are :)

Heh. No, actually, there really wasn't much going on with the competition. A few claps here, a kick or two there, and that was it. I'm not even sure I was wearing a skirt--my uniform might have been more like my marching band uniform. Sexy, I know.

Oh, my boss realizes how valuable I am. I can't go into it here, but there may be changes down the line. It depends how things go in the next few months. All I'll say is that right now there's nowhere else for me to go...but that may change. And she just wants me to be utilized. I'm not always utilized right now. So, having a little extra to do is a good thing.

once i did a job (front desk) where i was SO BORED that i asked everyone who walked by if they needed help. they all said no.

so, i started knitting at my desk, because, wtf else am i supposed to do. i was bored!!!!

later i was told to either surf the internet or read magazines. knitting just wasnt 'professional.' 0_O

it was just a temp job though, i left as soon as i could.

Yep, that's me, receptionist extraordinaire. I don't *want* to surf the internet, but sometimes there's literally nothing else for me to do. At least web surfing makes it look like I'm working on something...until someone comes up from behind me.

Sometimes I take notes; sometimes I compose. I'm not brave enough to read a magazine, but we get plenty of catalogs so I look through those. And sometimes I think of all the stupid little projects I have at home that I never work on that I could be doing with all that wasted time.

Maybe they were jealous of you knitting because they knew you weren't knitting something for them.
