Monday morning mayhem

Whether it ends up being major or minor remains to be seen.

It's a little before 7. I'm in my room prepping my clothes for work. I hear something heavy go by outside--a truck? What's this? Then a second heavy vehicle goes by--it's a fire truck with its lights on. Yikes. It ended up slightly down the block, to where I could see the lights through the trees, but that's all I could see.

Mom's room has a view of that end of the street. The fire truck was parked next door, but the ambulance was two doors down--the house of an elderly couple, original owners. The wife is the neighborhood busybody but her husband is a pretty good guy. I got there in time to see a stretcher rolling up the driveway. I had a feeling it would take a while, and I needed to finish what I was doing to get ready for work, so I went back to my room. About 7:20, the two vehicles had turned around and were heading out of the subdivision, with the ambulance using some low sirens. It's still early and in a residential area. Not time to blare anything.

I know they've both had health issues over the years, so you wonder how serious it is, if someone just fell or what. I hope everything will be okay.
