I don't know *what* was going on with this week, but it just seemed to last forever and/or had wackiness out the wazoo. In talking with a few other people, they agreed. I even asked if there was a full moon or something, but as January had a blue moon, that's not possible. But yeah. Really weird.
I had two busy days in a row, with not a lot of time in between them; you'll hear about them later, but the timing was such that things had to fall into place pretty well for everything to work out. For the most part, they did, and phew, but I'd had to think of the logistics for today several days in advance because I basically wasn't home at all yesterday. I was so tired when everything finished up that I napped for several hours this afternoon. Oy, I needed that.
And, of course, just when you think all is going well, a wrench gets tossed into the mix. This particular one was black with a white stripe down its back, who decided to leave my neighborhood a gift overnight. I smelled it on the way home last night, and my goodness, the way my room stank this morning, you'd think I'd slept with Pepe le Pew. Holy crap. Oh, and I should mention there is some bird that lives in the evergreen tree next to the front door. On three separate occasions recently, I have startled it by coming home late in the evening. It's disconcerting to have something flapping around in there when you're going up the front walk. Seriously, bird, it's okay. I can't tell what it is but it seems dark--maybe one of the blackbirds? I don't think it's big enough to be a crow. Also, you're a bird. Heights are your friend. Maybe go to an upper-level branch that's not at human eye level, perhaps?
